An overview of the services offered at Team Doctor Orthopedic Clinic

Nerve · Pain Clinic

We provide precise diagnosis and tailored treatment for the many forms of chronic pain that originate in the nervous system. Pain that persists over a long period often goes beyond simple muscle or joint problems and arises from nerve damage or irritation. Drawing on the latest medical equipment and specialized expertise, we focus on accurately identifying the cause of nerve-related chronic pain and fundamentally improving it through treatment suited to each individual patient.

PRP

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

The platelets used in PRP therapy contain a range of growth factors that regenerate damaged cells, including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, EGF, FGF, and IGF-1. Through the action of these growth factors, the treatment helps damaged tissue recover and promotes regeneration. You can benefit from the effectiveness and know-how in PRP therapy built on our long treatment experience dating back to the National Training Center.

This procedure uses the patient's own blood: platelets in the blood are concentrated and separated in a high-speed centrifuge to extract the therapeutic components, which are then injected back into the painful area. Among blood cells, the platelets used in PRP therapy contain cytokines (immune signaling substances) and a range of growth factors that regenerate damaged cells. Because of its anti-inflammatory and blood-vessel-regenerating effects, it has been approved as a new medical technology by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Our standard protocol is one session per week for 3 to 5 weeks, using the same validated kits as the National Training Center and our partner hospitals and clinics. The entire process, from blood draw to injection, takes under 20 minutes, and an advantage is that patients generally do not need to return to the clinic for additional treatment afterward.

Nerve Block

This injection therapy blocks pain signals that have become excessively heightened by muscle tension and other factors and disrupt the brain's nerve signaling. It is an effective treatment when the medical team diagnoses pain without a specific underlying cause.  Even when there is an underlying cause such as a herniated lumbar disc or arthritis, it is used to relieve pain and as an intermediate treatment on the way to definitive care.

Who can benefit?

PRP is especially effective at maximizing the body's healing capacity while there is still ‘room for recovery’ — before tissue has torn or been completely damaged.

Team Doctor Orthopedic Clinic does not treat PRP as a simple injection. An accurate diagnosis comes first, before the procedure. We pinpoint the exact location of the lesion with ultrasound and then inject with precision.
